Daily Prompt: Stroke of Midnight - Where were you last night when 2012 turned into 2013? Is that where you’d wanted to be?
I wanted to write a post seeing that it is the first day of 2013 and all, but what to write?
Since the holidays, my brain is in cruise control and is definitely not in blogging, creative and witty mode.
So instead of having to think of something myself, I’m going to do today’s Daily Prompt.
First part of the question - Where were you last night when 2012 turned into 2013?
Last night it felt as if I had sand in my eyes, you know when you’re so tired that your eyes feel all gritty? Yeah that was me. So before the clock hit 00:00 I was in bed. Party Animal!! However thanks to my haphazard alarm clock also known as Theodore, (my son, I don’t name alarm clocks) we were up right at midnight to bring in the new year. Instead of partying, dancing, singing and kissing I was welcoming 2013 by breastfeeding. Again can you say Party Animal!?!
Second part of the question - Is that where you’d wanted to be?
You betcha!! I got to spend the beginning of 2013 tucked up in bed with my two favourite men (kinky!) my husband and my little monkey.
I can honestly say that 2013 has started off well.
- My husband let me have a sleep in. Winning!
- He also cleaned the kitchen.
- I got to catch up on Dexter, Greys Anatomy and Private Practice.
First fail of 2013 – Getting all the family ready and into the car to go to the shops, only to find they weren’t open.

I was trying sooooo hard to stay up at midnight to kiss troy & it was like 15 till and I was like “Sorry dude, I love kissing you but I think Im gonna have to save it till the morning.” He gave me a hard time that I couldnt stay up for 15 more minutes so I did and as soon as we kissed Cambric woke up so we kissed him too. He looked ready to party but grabbed him and rocked (super hard) him back to sleep. ha

/ January 1, 2013I think that’s a great way to start the New Year! And yeah, when you have a little one, it’s pretty hard to stay awake all the way to midnight. Even empty nesters like my husband and I don’t always make it.
